What Happened

The crew of B-24 Liberator *Repulser* departed from Seething on 22 April 1944, flying with the 715th Squadron on a wartime mission over England. The aircraft came down at Kessingland, Suffolk, before it could return to base. All ten men aboard were killed, including the pilot, 2nd Lieutenant Eugene V. Pulcipher. No survivors are recorded. A memorial at Kessingland now marks the site where the crew of *Repulser* was lost.
